We appreciate all of our volunteers and program participants, but some individuals really stand out. and we recognize those people here. In August, 2011, we added Tamara Danieli to our list of extraordinary volunteers for her service to OBW.
Tamara Danieli

Tamara Danieli joined the board of One Beautiful World in January 2011. Since that time, she has been at almost every service project and OBW event. Tamara says that her greatest accomplishment has been raising her three beautiful, kind and generous daughters with her husband of 17 years. This is no small feat with the challenges of parenting in today’s world! Tamara is a Florida native and loves the diversity among the cultures here in South Florida. Her interest in volunteering was ignited by her mother who lost her battle with breast cancer twelve years ago. There were so many who gave so much to make her mother’s limited time here more pleasant and comfortable. Since then Tamara and her family have made a conscious effort to pay it forward. Her daughter Kaelin has donated to Locks of Love three times, Toniann has donated once, and Adriana has spent her time volunteering with a shelter for women who are victims of domestic violence. All three children have donated their birthday gifts to the shelter when they were younger. The idea of nurturing our children’s compassion and community involvement fits in perfectly with the philosophy of One Beautiful World. Thank you, Tamara, for all you do for OBW!
Other outstanding volunteers from 2010 and 2011:
Linda Sindt

Linda Sindt, or, as she is known to children throughout South Florida, Miss Linda, is an educator who uses music to teach. She created a geography program for her own company, All Kids – Love to Sing, which was used within the Broward school system. She has presented workshops for teachers on how to use music as an educational tool, and did presentations at both the Florida Council for the Social Studies and Georgia Council for the Social Sciences. In recent years, children as young as two and three years old have learned their continents, oceans and states, during her lively and fact-filled performances around Broward County, many of which have been done for One Beautiful World. She has several CDs of educational music, and wrote and performed a song called Wash Your Hands, which she donated to OBW. It is her voice you hear in OBW’s Wash Your Hands video.Thank you, Miss Linda, for sharing your talent with us.
Jenna Tiedje
Jenna Tiedje is the mom of three children under the age of 7, Payton, Gavin and Simon. Her family moved from Minnesota to Florida almost five years ago. Her husband, Chris, works for the Sun Sentinel. Jenna enjoys the warm weather, the beaches, and the ocean. Jenna’s mom has been recycling since Jenna was a teen, and “thanks to her I have always wanted to be able to give back to my community.” Jenna is the originator and Project Manager of the OBW monthly Beach Cleanup. The program allows her to combine her love of the beach, her ecological bent, and her desire to serve her community. Jenna also brings her family to the OBW monthly nursing home visits, where she and her beautiful family are an enormous hit with the residents. As if she is not busy enough with her babies and her responsibilities at OBW, Jenna also volunteers at Woman In Distress twice a week. Jenna is also a personal trainer. She is an outstanding role model for her children, and an inspiration to all busy parents. Thank you, Jenna!
