Help for Haiti

Haiti is an impoverished nation that is asking for fiscal
help in the wake of the terrible destruction from the 7.0
earthquake that struck near the capital city of Port-Au-
Prince on January 12. Moreover the nation's being
battered with aftershocks.

There are many ways for you to help.  Locally, the teens
of One Beautiful World are selling bracelets to benefit
relief efforts in Haiti.  They are bright blue and read
"I
AM HOPE FOR HAITI
."  If you want to embody hope for
Haiti, for a donation of just $2 or more, find one of our
teens or contact us.

Other ways to help:

American Jewish World Service - Has a special Haiti-
relief effort underway..
American Jewish World Service

American Red Cross (has already received contributions
of over $200,000 for Haiti relief) •Donations can be
mailed to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243,
Washington, D.C. 20013 or to a local American Red
Cross chapter. Donations to the International Response
Fund can be made by phone at 1-800-733-2767 or
online at
Red Cross.
•Those with wireless devices, including cell phones, can
send $10 donations to the Red Cross International Relief
Fund by sending a text message to 90999. A
confirmation message will arrive within a few minutes.
Responding "yes" will finalize the donation. Standard text
messaging rates may apply.

Foundation of Broward, Florida, has set up a site for

UNICEF - UNICEF has set up a special page for
donations for the children of Haiti. In an email, UNICEF's
Alissa Pinck reports: "UNICEF’s country office in
Haiti and the regional office located in Panama is on the
ground and have already deployed emergency teams to
assess the situation and determine what the additional
emergency needs are for the people of Haiti."
