We asked young people “what can you do to make the world a better place?” One five year old answered that, at the Army camp in Afghanistan where her dad was posted, the troops have no PX at which to buy personal hygiene products like deodorant and shampoo. She wanted to collect those items, plus recent issues of magazines, to send to the camp’s chaplain, who disburses these items to the troops. We have contacted the Chaplain. The most needed items are:
Fingernail clippers, razors, deodorant, flip flops, shaving cream, toiletries, current magazines (no books), healthy snacks–granola bars, raisins, trail mix, etc., writing paper (not cards), envelopes, dental floss, body and hand wipes.
The Post Office offers flat rate boxes specifically for shipping to military addresses. Send your box to:
